Wall hangings & commissions
Every piece leaving Macramé Stellar Atoll is knotted by hand in our Kaohsiung studio. We do not import finished panels or outsource fringe work. Clients choose from established series—Lagoon Drift, Harbor Lines, and Atoll Arc—or request a bespoke composition mapped to their wall dimensions and light conditions.
Lagoon Drift uses undyed cotton with occasional teal dip segments echoing harbor water. Harbor Lines emphasises horizontal repeat patterns suited to long dining walls. Atoll Arc builds crescent shapes that frame windows without blocking airflow, important in subtropical apartments where cross-ventilation matters as much as aesthetics.
“A wall hanging should feel discovered, not dropped from a catalogue.”
Commission guideline
Before and after installation planning
Before
Single nail, vague height
The client plans to “eyeball” placement once the piece arrives. Stud location is unknown; ceiling height never measured. Fringe may brush furniture.
After
Mounting brief
We specify rod or dowel width, supply hanging hardware rated for weight, and mark ideal centerline relative to floor and adjacent furniture. Care card included.
Lead time for custom work is typically four to six weeks depending on size and queue position. Rush requests are accepted only when they do not overlap with scheduled classes. To begin a commission, email reference photos and approximate dimensions to [email protected] or use the contact form.
